Meaford & Thornbury
Where are Meaford and Thornbury?
Meaford and Thornbury are located about two hours northwest of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and are situated on the western shore of Notawasaga Bay, part of Georgian Bay.
Meaford is a municipality east of Owen Sound comprised of the former Sydenham and St. Vincent Townships, but Urban Meaford, which is part of its larger municipal counterpart, sits on the shores of Georgian Bay about halfway between Owen Sound and Collingwood on Highway 26. Urban Meaford is located at the mouth of the Bighead River, where it empties into Georgian Bay, after snaking its way through the fields, forests and valleys of the most beautiful landscapes in Grey and Bruce counties.
Thornbury is also on the shores of Georgian Bay and is close-by to the Town of Meaford; slightly more towards Collingwood and closer to Toronto.
Real estate in Meaford and Thornbury has become increasingly more in demand over the last few years. With Toronto moving ever closer, and more people having the ability to work remotely, the area has become more open and available to seasonal and “full-time” buyers from afar. There are plenty of houses for sale and farms for sale in Meaford and Thornbury with many chances for a quiet, rural lifestyle. Looking to buy or sell a home in Meaford or Thornbury?
